PAWS OF THE PLANET
BIG BLACK DOG BANDANA CAMPAIGN

Did you know that black dogs, specifically BIG BLACK DOGS
are usually the last ones to be adopted from shelters?

BIG BLACK DOGS are euthanized at a higher rate than other shelter animals!

This phenomenon is so common it even has a name:
-BIG BLACK DOG SYNDROME-

Why Aren't They Adopted More Readily?
Here's One Reason:

Black Dogs Do Not Show Up Well Behind Bars
People Walk Right By Them, They Don't Even Notice Them.

HELP US SHINE THE SPOTLIGHT
 ON THESE BEAUTIFUL ANIMALS!

Please Support Our
"OUT OF THE CAGE - INTO YOUR HEART"
yellow bandana campaign

As Little As $2.50 Will Bring Renewed Hope To
ONE BIG BLACK SHELTER DOG

Paws of the Planet will provide bandanas to shelters. There is no monetary cost to
the shelter. We simply ask they respect our mission and use them to feature Big
Black Dogs only.

We're appealing to you to help us so we can help these dogs through awareness and education.
Together we can make a difference and end this syndrome.
This is a campaign where everyone can help.

Thank you for the yellow bandana's. Thought you would enjoy some photo's of Abner. He has been at the shelter far to long. He is a great dog. I know somebody would love to make him their best friend. I believe the yellow bandana will help find his forever home.     ~ Jayne, Richmond, Indiana

Sheba belonged to a homeless man who became ill & hospitalized. She was put in one shelter for 6 months, going from hopeful to severely depressed to another shelter where there was more interaction with volunteers. She is now one happy gal with 2 other dog playmates and a handful of cats!
