We're Making a Difference (thanks to you!)
In the past year we've funded a number of projects that created a
significant benefit in the lives of animals, including:
~ Providing funding for the care and feeding of fourteen sea lions
rescued and rehabilitated by the Pacific Marine Mammal Center in Laguna
Beach.
~ Supporting Wetlands & Wildlife Care Center's Pelican Recovery Project
by contributing to a generous matching grant.
~
Putting the spotlight on Big Black Shelter Dogs through our "Out
of the Cage - Into Your Heart" yellow bandana campaign. We're
working with shelters in San Clemente, Ontario, Newport Beach, North San
Diego County, and San Bernardino.
~
Funding a project to tint windows at the Newport Beach Animal Shelter,
expanding space in the cattery enabling Newport Animal Control to rescue
and care for up to 20 more homeless adoptable cats.
~ Providing an opportunity for kids (and adults) to create frozen treats
for the animals living at Wolves-N-Wildlife. These "popsicles"
included meat treats for Raja the Tiger and Sarah the Wolf and fresh
berries for Buddha the Bear. A big treat on a hot summer day!
~
Providing funding for Wonders of Wildlife so this creative, hands-on
program can continue educating children by bringing wildlife into the
classroom. Lizards, iguanas, bugs, small mammals -- all
representatives of the wildlife that surrounds us.
~ Our Tiger Dreamz' Pet Blankets, Fair Trade Arts & Crafts and other
unique animal related merchandise are always welcome additions to any
silent auction, raffle or fundraising event. This past year we were
happy to donate to these valuable organizations: Newport Beach Animal
Shelter, The Shambala Preserve, Santa Ana Zoo, Best Friends Society,
Wetlands & Wildlife Care Center, Wolves-N-Wildlife, The Greyhound Gang,
Orange County SPCA, Almost Home For Hounds, Wonders of Wildlife, Costa
Mesa Bark Park, Irvine Animal Shelter, Canine Companions For
Independence.
~ Contributing to the San Diego Zoo's
Project Elephant Footprint campaign to protect and study Africa's
largest remaining elephant population, California Condor Species
Recovery efforts of the
Ventana Wildlife Society, and Mountain Lion conservation efforts of
the Mountain Lion
Foundation.
