You're Making a Difference
Thanks to your contributions and purchases, year we've funded a number of projects
in the past year that created a
significant benefit in the lives of animals, including:
~
Contributing to the National Audubon Society's efforts to rescue
wildlife affected by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
~ Funding a school bus to bring local students to the Santa Ana Zoo and
a Zoomobile to bring their education program to schools, and purchasing
two field microscopes for their education department.
~ Providing funding for the care and feeding of sea lions rescued and
rehabilitated by the Pacific Marine Mammal Center in Laguna Beach, and
for pelican rescue by the Wetlands & Wildlife Care Center.
~
Sponsoring an Anatolian Shepherd Dog through the Cheetah Conservation
Fund's highly successful Livestock Guarding Dog program. These
special dogs are given to Namibian farmers to protect their livestock
from cheetahs and other predators. As a result the farmer's no
longer need to kill cheetahs to protect their livestock and their
livelihood.
~ Providing support for shelter animals through donations to the Newport
Beach Animal Shelter and the Millan Foundation.
~
Providing funding for Wonders of Wildlife so this creative, hands-on
program can continue educating children by bringing wildlife into the
classroom. Lizards, iguanas, bugs, small mammals -- all
representatives of the wildlife that surrounds us.
~ Providing hay for big cat den boxes at the Roar Foundation's Shambala
Preserve.
~ Contributing to the California Condor Species
Recovery efforts of the
Ventana Wildlife Society, and caring for rescued bobcats at the
California Wildlife Center.
